Alden Receives Loan For Water Treatment Plant Maintenance

Posted: Updated:

The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority approves over $7 million in grants and loans for water and sewer projects across the state.
Alden was among the projects awarded funding.
The city is receiving a $1.8 million loan to add on to the existing water treatment plant, repair one of the wells and install water meters.
The loan comes from the Drinking Water Revolving Fund.
It has a 1 percent interest rate over 20 years and is expected to save over $300,000 compared to the cost of conventional loans.
Other community projects selected are in Two Harbors, Hoyt Lakes, Erskine and Willmar.
Governor Mark Dayton says the funding will give residents of the five communities selected access to quote the clean drinking water they deserve.
