City Council and Citizens Meet at Coffee With the Council

North Mankato, MN -

NORTH MANKATO -- Some North Mankato residents took the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns with city officials at coffee with the council earlier today.

The event took place at Spring Lake Park where city council members presented information to residents about long-term investment plans the city of North Mankato is making.

Informal events like this make it easier for someone to approach a city council member if they don’t regularly visit with them.

“This is really an outreach opportunity so people can come and meet with us in an informal, casual setting," said North Mankato Mayor Mark Dehen.  "They can have a chance to meet with the council and give us their feedback and ideas.  It’s really important that we continue to outreach to our community as we continue to grow and attract new businesses, new citizens and new folks to our area.”

Dehen went on to mention that meetings like this are very helpful to city officials to hear first-hand what citizens have to say.
